MICHAEL - Pathways to the Feature Film
This project is one of the most historically significant and culturally important projects in Australian cinema in a long time. Daring to re-examine some long considered myths and stories of one of Australia's most iconic figures, while addressing the imbalances in the current narrative.
What first began as filming a "proof of concept" (p.o.c) has blossomed now to the feature film.
The addition of Sara Elizabeth Joyce to the team, joining as a producer and co-writer along with long time project front runner, director, producer and writer Darren K Hawkins , "Michael" has found the final piece to the pre-production and development puzzle.
Sara is every bit as passionate and committed to telling this amazing story and ensuring that not only Michael's story is finally heard, but just as important, that the importance, the impact and legacy of his widow, Bridget is full realised for the world to finally see.

On top of all of this, we're incredible honoured to have one of the descendants of Michael Kennedy, Mr LEO KENNEDY, Michael's great grandson, who was not only a serving police officer (Victorian Police), but also an author. His book, "Black Snake" has not only proven to be a wealth of information for the film, but Leo himself has joined the team as our script consultant.
On top of Leo's amazing book, we've been privileged to have access to some amazing source material from the time, including court documents, parliamentary records and most importantly, the written journals and accounts of Thomas McIntrye, the only surviving member of the Mansfield Party murdered at Stringybark Creek.
